Michael Smith Restaurant gets new name, look and location
Farina is the next chapter in James Beard Award-Winning Chef Michael Smith’s career. Its genesis was a dinner Chef Smith and his wife, Nancy Smith, had with friends at Guido, a one-star Michelin restaurant in Italy’s Piedmont region. As wine flowed and course after course emerged from the tiny kitchen, the couple knew this was the experience they wanted to bring back to Kansas City; evenings that become memories, bonds that become stronger over extraordinary food and wine.
That’s what you’ll find at Farina—a casual yet elegant space for sharing and savoring with others. Whether it’s a romantic evening, business dinner, family gathering or group of friends heading to one of Kansas City’s nearby cultural events, the Farina team has only two requests when you dine here: Leave your cares at the door and let us spoil you.
Our menu changes with each season. Some of the dishes and ingredients shown are only available during certain times of the year. For current dishes, please view our menu.
Tuesday – Thursday: 5 to 10 p.m.
Friday – Saturday: 5 to 11 p.m.
Farina is open Tuesday through Saturday except for major holidays. The restaurant is closed on Sunday and Monday but is available for private functions 7 days a week. Contact Nancy Smith at firstname.lastname@example.org to book a private event.
